I bought an Aussie Saddle for Dashing Big Red

I decided to buy myself a Christmas present so I ordered a Down Under Wizzard Poley saddle along with the pad, woolie legging thingies, and a breast strap for my darling boy Red. I ordered it on December 23 and on December 26 my boy colicked.

He is ok and stayed at the vet from Saturday to Wednesday. He colicked on Tifton hay because

1. He is a pig in horse costume
2. He hadn't had his alfalfa
3. Probably didn't drink enough

Anywhoo...my darling little pig is ok and I got his saddle the day he came home. They sent the wrong size so it is going back and being swapped out for the right size. I did put it on Red and sat in it - I really liked it!!!

I am hoping to ride next weekend up at a park 100 miles away that is fabulous and give the saddle a good test!

My Billy Cook saddle should be returned to me from BC soon so Red now has a Billy Cooke, a Steele and an Aussie. My hubby said that was ridiculous This from a man who golfs out the wazootie, has a Harley Heritage, a Quarter Horse gelding and loves to go to the casino to gamble! LOL I think I need to by another saddle!!!

Aww silly pony pigging out like that, glad he is ok, and then it sucks they sent you the wrong size. You will have to post pics when you get the right one in.

I am so glad he is ok. I have never had a horse colic or even seen a horse colic. I have read about it numerous times so was very glad I recognized it for what it was early. The vet said I caught it in time so that Red wasn't in serious danger and my vet bill wasn't as high as it could have been!

I am surrounded by Murphy's Law...if it can go wrong, it will. It will be just like the one in the link above just 1" smaller! I am very excited about it. I have had major saddle fitting issues and hopefully Red and I will be happy faux Aussies!
