Talking I got a saddle!!

I finally got a saddle! After 7 years of resenting western riding(no offense to all you western riders out there, that was just all I could ride and I am rebelious like that :P) I finally got my english saddle! Some of you may remember I was going too go with a Wintec but I found a Crosby and it was too good a deal to pass up! My mom just texted me and asked if I knew anything about Croosby saddles and if I liked them. I said that yes they are a very good saddle and next thing I know they bought it for me!! For $285 I got a 17" Crosby CC, idk what brand leathers and irons, a neoprene girth, a saddle pad, and saddle oil. A pretty good deal if you ask me, esp considering I was going to pay that much for the wintec at the tack store! Anyway, here are some pix, does it look to be in good condition? It needs a doog oil but the leather is pretty soft and supple. Also, can you tell how old it is and possibly what model? I have no clue. I am going to go try it on my horses tomorrow, fingers crossed it fits!!

Crosby is a good saddle, I'm riding in one now! :)
No idea on the model, but it looks older.
Have fun!

Have a leather person check out those billet straps, don't ride in it until. May be weak.
Also , looks like back of right side panel needs restuffing.
It's a lovely saddle and I LOVE Crosby's . You will have many nice rides in it.

It looks like a nice saddle, but it seems like it might need some leather therapy and new billets. Leather therapy especially for the seat and the underside of the saddle will get rid of some of the mold-ish stuff and water damage. Other than that it looks like a great saddle! Hope it fits your horses!

My horse came out of a freaking dream.....<3

Well I guess the stirrup bars move in a way. You should be able to push the edge of the bar towards the back of the saddle down and around to slide your leathers out. It may be difficult and tight to get them out, yes :)

As far as using the front billets ony, you are the judge if they look and feel strong enough to not break all of a sudden. Hope it fits your horse. It's a lovely saddle!
