No, that doesn't help. We need to SEE the front of your saddle with a rule held at the level of the d-rings. If it's a changeable gullet, just look inside and see what color you have installed. If it's not, then look on the stirrup bar, or on the billet cover, or under the saddle and see if you can find a letter stamped, N, M, or W.

I'm just going to assume you need a wide or medium-wide saddle. Most stock horses take one or the other. My mare takes that tree size, so here is a list of saddles I would consider buying that I think should fit you both.

Collegiate English Saddle 16.5" - eBay (item 140287590478 end time Dec-14-08 15:16:06 PST) - tree might be a medium, not sure...
Stubben Juventus All Purpose Saddle 16.5 Black Med Tree - eBay (item 180313126572 end time Dec-17-08 09:20:24 PST) - Stubben medium trees (30-31 cm) fit a lot of horses well

16.5" Stubben saddle w/new fleece saddle pad - eBay (item 300279104759 end time Dec-16-08 23:47:54 PST)
Stubben All Purpose AP Saddle + Xtras 16.5 NICE - eBay (item 230313690211 end time Dec-21-08 17:00:00 PST)
16 1/2" Collegiate C. C./ Jumping~ Padded Flap~ Saddle - eBay (item 160303359893 end time Dec-14-08 16:45:00 PST) - looks more like a medium-wide
Avante Curvet AP English Saddle 16" Youth - eBay (item 120347197150 end time Dec-15-08 20:12:58 PST)
16" courbette all purpose saddle - eBay (item 260327544666 end time Jan-04-09 08:46:39 PST) - I'd offer $200-250 for it.

The only color in the gullet is brown, does that mean anything? Thanks for the links by the way, you have been alot of help!

If it's a removable gullet, you can OPEN the front of the saddle and look INSIDE. The metal front gullet plate will be one of 5 colors.

I know how to open the gullet, and the plate is black, it was dark when I went to check so I was mistaken.

Ahh, okay, well you have a Medium installed then. How does it fit the horse? Can you take some pictures of your saddle on him without the saddle pad, so we can check?

Yeah, it didn't fit Doc as well but it fits Sampson great, I will get a pic as soon as possible.
