| | Importance of proper saddle placement? My sweat pattern was not even on my last ride. I have been thinking that maybe the saddle is too far forward, so today, I moved it back a couple of inches. Then it settled even a touch farther back as we rode. Two things I noticed at the end of the ride: 1. My horse did not play with the shank (hackamore) once the entire ride. He almost always plays with it a little and some rides more than others. I have wondered if he played with the shank because he was uncomfortable or just bored. 2. Sweat pattern was beautiful. Completely even. Full contact everywhere except down the spine. Well, a little wet. What do you think? How to explain the fact that he didn't grab the shank at all? Is it a coincidence or did it feel that much better to him with the saddle moved back those few inches......maybe 3? It's an Imus 4 beat and it's supposed to sit a bit forward. I suppose the only way to know for sure is another ride with the new saddle placement. Thanks so much! |
