Lifter pad?

I have an english saddle that I bought used. No brand name, but fits my 14hh pony according to this how-to: http://www.doversaddlery.com/images/...%20Fitting.pdf
But he doesn't have prominent withers so the saddle tends to slip up if I'm not careful. Would we benefit from using a lifter pad or something like that to prevent slippage?

No Haven't ridden English for a while --I might be able to get some Tuesday after my lesson. I'll try my best!
