Looking for input on saddle choices

I have been considering five different saddles for my broad backed, low withered TWH gelding. I need a very wide angle tree to fit this big fella. My five options are as follows: Tucker High Plains Trail Saddle (very wide tree) model 260; Tennessean Softee Wide Tree saddle; Big Horn Haflinger saddle model 1681; Allegany Mountain Trail (Wide Tree) saddle; Circle Y Alabama Trail Gaiter (wide tree) saddle. Of those five saddles, which would you recommend? Thanks!!

People tell me Circle Y saddles are the best quality and they have a better resale value. (Probably the most expensive too lol) But I personally have never owned one.

I haven't heard of any of the other brands.

We have two horses, a RMH and a TWH both are very wide and after trying tons of saddles we finally went with an EzFit treeless saddle. The EzFit has more of traditional look to it and it is custom made at a very good price. Around $800. It is comfortable for us and fits both of our horses very well. No other saddle we tried even came close to fitting correctly. Wish we would have found this saddle early on and saved ourselves tons of money and our horse tons of misery!

Thanks Vickie! I have considered a treeless saddle. I have read a lot of positive things about them, and also several negative comments. I have, therefore, been skeptical of a treeless model. Based upon your recommendation, however, I will investigate the EZ-Fit saddle.

There is a nice looking saddle on eBay ending at 7pm tonight, current bid is $575. I don't know how to put a link from eBay here, below is the item # and item title

Anndankey, Thanks for the heads up on he Allegany Mountain Trail Saddle on e-Bay. I had actually already looked at that salad before I got your message. It appears to a fantastic saddle and a solid price. However, the seller could not attest that the saddle was equipped with wide tree. So, I decided to pass on that one. Thanks for the notification though!!!

Whichever one fits your horse best and puts you in a decent position. I would do some wither tracings of your horse to narrow down your selection, then go from there. You want to work with a shop that will let you try the saddles, or exchange it for another.
