Looking at a western saddle...need opinions please

Someone is selling a Circle C Arabian Saddle on FB for $250. I can post the pictures if needed, but it's black and looks well cared for. I tried looking for them onlline, but haven't had any luck.

Are these decent saddles? Is $250 a good deal?

Thanks!

I don't know about that exact model, but someone who used to board at my old barn bought one of those "Western Classic" saddles by Circle C brand new (the black saddle further down with the metal studs...not the parade saddle with the tapaderos, the one further down). It was a piece of junk. Leather was like cardboard, the metal studs were in ridiculous places (around the edge of the seat? Really? They got hot once from sitting in the sun while she lunged her horse and burned the insides of the lady's legs when she mounted), and the tree was crooked.

Here's a picture the owner posted of the saddle. She also posted a few others as well.

I was thinking the same thing, actually. Does it look like the back isn't...straight?

^^^ I saw that too! And it looks pretty hammered for a saddle that is probably not that old. I have seen really old saddles that looked better. And was it painted?? Color looks pretty worn off in many places and fleece really mashed down.

Saw all that too. I would run away from this saddle. I found a beautiful Circle Y cutting saddle on consignment at a local tack shop for $350, fully fitted including front cinch, back cinch and breast collar.

.

For 250.00 and it fits your Horse and You, I say it is a good deal. A 350.00 Circle Y Cutting Saddle, that deal only come along one every few years....

They used a Ralide Tree and Cow Leather.
I have seen the New Circle Y High Horse Models that use the Ralide Tree and cost 1,000.00 New, not look much better after they were a few years old

.
