Lunge reins

Is there a big difference between a polypropylene lunge rein and a cotton lunge rein? I'm just wondering as I'm going to buy one for my horse. Thanks

Are you talking about a lunge line? If that's the case, then no, it doesn't matter what material it's made of.

Yeah. I was just wondering if one was stronger than the other or something. Thank you.

I'm not very sure about the polypropylene, but I tried nylon and cotton. I find the cotton one to be much better. It's better on hands and it doesn't become a complete mess when you pick it up to attach to the horse, also slips less. I ended up donating the nylon one.

Brilliant :) I think I'll be going for the cotton one then. I would say that the polypropylene one would be similar to the nylon one. Thanks (:

Sure. I also have to add I prefer flat to the rope/braided, but I guess it's matter of taste. I got mine on 3 or 4 years ago and both - me and my neighbor - are using it since then.

If you go to and search for Roma Padded Lunge Line you'll see what I'm talking about (here is the link (if it won't expire yet) Roma® Padded Lunge Line - Jeffers ).

Thanks for the website. I'll check it out :)
