I have an older Pessoa and I love it. I have not experienced the model you linked to.

It sure looks comfy.

OMG FarmPony, I almost bought your saddle! It was on Ebay right? I had it on my watch list and I was so close to snagging it until I realized a wide tree probably wouldnt work for my pony. Lol well I had to share

FP, I had Pessoa and it was a bad fit for both my horses, especially shoulders. But very comfy saddle. :)

That is too funny! I'm a little bit glad that it did not sell just because I didn't have to ship!

This one has the interchangeable gullet but I've never seen the Pesseo with that. I wonder if I can find it at a local tack shop so I can try it out?

It wasn't so much of a gullet as it was the angle/shape of panels in my case. If you can try or get it with trial - definitely do.

I haven't heard good things about the Pessoa from fellow equestrians - but take it on trial, give it a whirl. You can do that through Dover Saddlery.

Yeah, I've heard the newer Pessoas aren't all that, too. Definitely try it out before you buy, if you can.

What I really liked about the Toullouse was the comfort level. It was so cozy you could spend hours in it and the double leather was so soft and grippy.

I wonder if I should try the genesis again. I just don't think it sat right on him. I'm not crazy about the leather on the newer bates either. I wonder if crosby has an interchangeable gullet?

I still love the M.T's. Why not check out www.classicsaddlery.com for her M.T's. Contact the store and talk with Lynnda, I bet she'd beable to help you out on your choices.

She does trials as well.

Thanks, MIEventer, for recommending Classic Saddlery!

Farmpony84 - the Toulouse Genesis system takes some getting used to, you have to know how to fit the saddle to the horse in order to adjust it correctly. Lynnda is a very experience saddle fitter and we help people every day looking into getting the correct fit for their horse(s). But, once you know how to fit the Genesis system to your horse, it's really great because you can customize the fit to that horse and the next and so on. Much more peronalized for each horse than just a fixed tree saddle.

That being said, we always recommend that if you're looking to purchase the Toulouse saddles, and especially in the Genesis system, to look at the buffalo leather. We stock the Annice in tobacco buffalo leather with the Genesis system in sizes 16.5 through 18. The buffalo leather is going to last much longer than the doubled leather, it breaks in almost immediately (especially this tobacco leather....it's just gorgeous!!) and will give you a much higher resale value in the future. We are also getting in the Noelle/Celine in the buffalo leather with the Genesis system by the end of this summer.

Look at Toulouse Jumping Saddles

If you have any questions, give us a call or email!

Hope this helps a little :)
