M Toulouse Celine...?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at buying the Celine.
A 17.5, WIDE Tree.

I know the med. Tree has sharp angles, but I heard the wide does not.

So, this bridle leather it's made of, is it slippery?

Would I be able to get bridle leather stirrup leathers, or would I HAVE to get calfskin to prevent wear?

Oh, and does anyone know of it'll fit a longer (18") thigh?

I have a nearly new 17.5" W M. Toulouse Celine just sitting in my closet waiting for a buyer. I just moved my horse out to a training barn for sale so I have no more use for it. It's dark brown and has matching leathers and stirrups that I will sell with it. There are just 2 small scuffs on the flap from lunging my horse with the saddle on and the stirrups run up. What price are you looking at? I have pictures if you would like.

My honest opinion - I don't like the Celine.

There are a few people at my barn, who had the Celine, and one currently owns and uses the Celine - and every single one of them - were put in a chair seat.

I have one friend, who'm I was trying to help with...I cannot remember what it was, I think it was establishing a rhythmic trot...but anyways, I couldn't focus on helping her with it because my eyes continued to be drawn to her legs, which were so infront of the girth, it was irritating.

I had her work on getting her feet behind the girth, but she couldn't do it no matter how hard she tried - so I got on her horse, and yeah....that saddle...meh. I could not, no matter how hard I tried, get my legs under me - not at all.

She got on Nelson, and in my saddle and she couldn't believe how easy it was to get into a proper, functional position in my saddle. She got back on her horse, back into her Celine - and instantly, her legs went back into a chair seat position.

She took her saddle to the tack shop, and bought a different model of the M.T, a much better one - that puts her in a very nice position.

There is 1 person left, at the barn who has a Celine - everyone else got rid of theirs...and he has the same issue...chair seat.

I personaly, do not like that model. Don't get me wrong, I love M.T's - but not the Celine.

A local tack shop in my area, is selling the Celine for a very cheap price - closeout sale on that model. $600.00 brand new with accessories.

MI- do you know what model she got?
Unfortunately not many tack shops near me carry MT's and have heard the Celine won't really work for my long thigh.

Yes, she got the Denisse - very, very nice saddle!

It looks nice! I think I'm going to be going with the Merina, as I'm quite certain it's forward enough.
