Making Barrel Reins..

I'm planning to make some barrel racing reins but I'm not sure how to make the grip knots. Does anybody know how or what they are called?? Pictures would be helpful. Not a very good picture but these are the type of knots I'm looking for...

Tying a knot in the rein will do the same thing. There are normal knots in my barrel reins and they work just the same.

I suppose I could do that. Hmm :) I was kind of looking for the more fancier knot though...
