Making a Dressage Browband?

I just bought my horse a new bridle and the browband is too small (it is measure 15", so I was planning on getting a 16"). I figured I would use this as an opportunity to try a bling browband. I don't show, so I think it might be fun to make my own. So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

I found some on ebay but I was really looking for a wave/u type empty channel one but I can't find any.

If anyone has made one before and has any tips or suggestions on how to get started or where a good place is to find supplies I would GREATLY appreciate it :). Thanks!

I gather bling means all the sparkly stuff. What about a woven browband. Tandy leather sells plastic strips in various colors for just this type of craft. The leather browband is your base then you create your masterpiece.
