Misc. Tack...where to sell?

Hey everyone -

So I just went over to my parents house a couple nights ago and they told me (after 5 years) to get all my tack outta their garage...LOL

So, I am left with about 6 totes FULL of random stuff that I need to get rid of.

My question is, where do I list it?

There is a bunch of stuff that is older and probably not worth anything, and I wouldnt really be making that much off of this stuff, but I would still like to make something...maybe enough to cover a few lessons

Stuff consists of anything from old showing clothes (mostly western style) to tiedowns, bits, brushes, crops...I mean literally anything!

www.horseclicks.com Is free to list but it can be difficult to sell your smaller items on there.

Ebay is always a good idea except that it can get really expensive. They recently raised their rates and it can get a bit pricey.

There is a tack and equiptment classified on this site and I know it attracts quite an interest. You may considered selling it all as a lot either on here or on ebay. You know horse people! We all need more 'stuff!"

I don't like ebay - you have to pay. Tacktrader.com, horsetopia.com, horse forums, craiglist. I donate some of the tack and then put it on my tax return. Works too.

Have you tried a local tack store? Some have consignment sections, which would suit your needs perfectly. I actually just did the same thing - cleaned out my parent's garage and took a load of stuff to the local store. It was little things like old halters, lead ropes, etc. I asked a few bucks for halters and lead ropes, maybe $10 for a english saddle pad or two, and so far it's added up to $50. Not bad for old stuff I never used.

This would be a grand idea if I didnt live in an area where there isnt really a local tack store, ha!

I bet the closest one is at least 30-45 miles from me.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

I will take some pictures of everything as soon as I get it cleaned up and get it on here asap.

I told my husband last night to give me a month to get rid of it, and if its not gone by then, then its getting trashed!
