Smile Moving to a livery yard

Hi all im moving to my first proper livery yard on sunday as I have always kept my horse with a friend but unfortunately it didnt work out and I need somewhere that I can ride him through the winter so I am a little scared! Just wondering if there is anything I should look out for on a livery yard! And if there is any essential equipment that I should have? Xx

To be honest with you my major problem with livery yards is that the people can sometimes be so bitchy, and it always causes problems. Don't get me wrong its not all yards but the certain few I been too... not so good.
Also make sure you label or write your name/horses name of your things else stuff can get lost and no one will know where to return it. Or if your like me you will end up collecting little things like hoof picks without even realising it.
Anyone ever realised how easy it is to grab a hoof pick and go home with like 5 or 6. Its crazy.
As long as your happy and your horse is happy then things will work out :)

Definitely label everything! Also keep your equipment in a lockable grooming/tack box so it cannot be stolen and make sure your things arrive before your horse so he's not waiting around and getting stressed.
I do agree, people can be really bitchy, it would be ideal if you could make friends with someone who is already there so you're not completely on your own when you arrive :)

Not every place has mean people, don't get the wrong idea! My place is fantastic and the people have been really friendly and warm- one man is an avid trail rider and gave me his card so we can go for a ride sometime soon! So, don't be too worried about rude ones... just stay away from them because there are bound to be a couple! ;)
And yes, label your name on things!
