Skirt length is only 36 inches. Most western saddles are around 26-27 easily for a 15 in seat. You are literally only adding the 10 inches to accomodate the childs butt. It's no different then plopping a child behind the saddle except this would probably be safer. I imagine it isn't ment to be ridden in long because well most kids attention span wouldn't hold up for hours of riding.

The item description says it's for a parent and a kid. The first seat is 15 inches and the back one is 10 inches. Still, it looks very wierd for sure.

I think I'd rather ride in a bigger saddle than normal and put the kid in front of me than behind me, personally. I don't think I'd use that.
