My First 5 Star

I bought this off barrelhorseworld.com and it arrived today. I'm so happy with it!

Wow. That's one of the cooler pads I've seen. =)

Congrats.

Fits over the withers. Since it's a felt pad, it's pretty stiff so if there was no hole for wither relief, I think it'd be pretty unconfortable under the saddle. =)

Shannon had it right. The hole is for wither relief. If the withers are too tall or the pommel of the saddle sits too low, it can set down on the pad and compress the withers causing pain and damage. The hole is just there to prevent that.

Very nice pad. Beautiful color and I like the cowhide wear leathers. A little too flashy for my taste but beautiful nonetheless.

Well, I've been told that us barrel racers like our flash! And I am not as flashy as some with the coordinating sets of pads, boots, headstalls, breastcollars, and shirts, all of which are sequined. :)

LOL. :) I understand that. I don't particularly care for the really shiny, flashy tack because I think it detracts from the actual performance. Plus, I can't really watch the run if I am being blinded by all those reflective surfaces.

How are you and Bailey doing these days anyway? Not to hijack the thread or anything.......
