My new leathers!

My new leathers came today! I got them from Gary's leather. They are beautiful, and look like they are going to match my unusual (brown) colored dressage saddle perfectly.

Not the best pictures, but they will have to do:

They are the bottom adjust kind, and I got them stitched to reduce stretching, oh and he threw in a nylon lining which I guess he is starting to test out. Can't wait to try them tomorrow!

Here's the site if anybody is interested: Gary's Leather

Very nice! I've heard great things about Gary's leathers. I may have to order a pair from him...

They match my saddle wonderfully!

And here is how I put them up if anybody is curious:

I admit it. I do not understand how they work. I have never seen that type of leathers before.

Under the leather keeper there is a large conaway (sp) buckle which is how you adjust the length instead of a buckle in the normal place. Its easier to adjust from the saddle and reduces bulk under your leg.

They work similar to wintec webbers. I like the bottom adjust too, but we have too many different riders in our saddles and I find the regular style are easier to adjust. But, I've only ever used Wintec Webbers, not nice leathers like these. QHD, do you find them easier to adjust or about the same?

I think once I get them broke in they will be easier to adjust. I just lift the cover up, slide it to the next hole and then put the cover back down instead of having to wiggle around and fight with the normal kind of leathers.

Ooh I like those! That is the kind I first started to use, so simple to adjust.
