My New Set :)

I am all smiles :) I just received a picture of the beginning steps of my new set being made. It does not have all the conchos on it yet and it has no rhinestones on it but I am already so happy with it. Double D Bling has done such a great job so far with making it exactly how I wanted.

So far all that has been done is the leather and black stingray inlay has been cut, put together, and the concho holes have been punched.

Here is the picture I was sent just a little while ago :)

I can not wait to receive more pictures and finally get to see it in person and on my horse!!!

When it is all done it will have a total of 6 conchos on the breast collar and they will be covered in AB rhinestones. There will also be AB rhinestones placed on the leather that boarders the black stingray inlay. The center piece of the breast collar will also be covered in AB rhinestones. The headstall is just a simple one ear, you can guess what it will look like by the way the breast collar will look.

Anyways, stay tuned for more updates :)

Its a set I have had in my mind for years and have never set aside the money to order, but thanks to the dear ole dad and the Christmas money he gives me every year I decided to spend it on this set :)

I will only be using it for shows or any social events we attend, but of course I will have to show it off a few times at home just to blind the other horses and the people who drive by :) --> their my groupies (DrumRunner will tell you its really random passer byes but I will continue to believe other wise)

and as DrumRunner said before we are Tack Hoes....we collect :)

A little of topic but......

we have blinged out a few sets ourselves, in fact I am debating selling a few sets like the ones I have made in the past....what do y'all think?
I have posted pictures before of the sets I blinged out myself but I will post them again in case you have not seen them, do you think people would be interested in either one of these sets?

edit: I only attached a picture of one because I can not find a good picture of the other one right now. I would also be selling the matching headstall with the breast collar. I would also be blinging out a new set not selling this exact set in the photo. I would also offer whatever color rhinestones and conchos wanted. In this picture it is just AB rhinestones and black spur rowels as the conchos.

That. Is. AWESOME!

WoW. How cool. I wish I had the money to get a custom set of tack made. That looks so good and I can't WAIT to see the finished result. I'm excited FOR YOU! :)

The other day when we were talking about our new sets I was thinking they would be similar but now that I see the rough draft of yours, they are going to be very different...I like it. It's definitely looking like the set you've drawn on paper 578,542 times at my house..Excited to see it.. I think it will look very good on May.

Lol ClaPorte, you should know, and will find out shortly that Sierra and I are self-admitted Tack Hoes..We collect.. I think I have five or six sets..I maybe use two now (on my three horses) and I'm ordering Lark a custom set because....um..she needs it? Really. None of my others match her..And my horses are spoiled. They simply cannot wear the same thing. Laugh! I'm not as bad as Sierra who has one horse and like four sets for her horse..and another custom set on the way. This is also not including our practice or wear at home sets..At home we ride in nylon so we don't get our shiney stuff dirty..

We are also firm believers in buying a cheap non-blingy set and blinging it out ourselves. It's actually quite easy and cheaper than buying a custom set...

"Tack Hoes" OMG, that's awesome. LoL.

To blind your own tack, what do you use to keep the rhinestones on? Does it hold well? I'm pretty creative, but I think I'd have SOOO many designs running around in my head that the ending result would suck. LoL.

I really like that breastcollar. What does the headstall look like? One ear, browband? And it looks like it's a medium oil, am I correct?

The rhinestones hold well with the right care, we use E-6000 glue. You really want to clean it, everytime, after it gets sweaty and don't leave it out in the cold. The glue dries up under the stone and when cold it becomes brittle and frail causing the stone to fall off when it knocks something..it just depends on how well you take care of it. We usually surf tack stores for clearence sets, order rhinestones whole sale off of ebay, take the set apart to bling them out and put them back together. Bam, new set.

I have not really taken care of my set that I have pictured above. I hardly ever clean it, throw it around, have left it outside in the weather, and yet only 2 to 4 stones have come off, but that was mainly from my mare creaming barrels with her shoulder (my fault not hers).

yes, it is medium oil. It is pretty easy if your a creative person, it is just time consuming and meticulous.

It may be because I'm an awful neat freak and my tack and things have to be just the right way or I can't stand it...my tack sets stay in my bedroom..it's that bad.

The keeping it out of the cold tip was given to me by the makers of Dazzle Rock tack when I bought a set from them in September..

yeah, I am too normally, but this you already know. I have just been too lazy lately to get out my "i do not care if this tack gets ruined" set out so I have just been using the set pictured (but this you know as well).

sorry CLaPorte i did not answer your other question, the headstall is a brow band headstall I will attach a picture of what it looked like before I blinged it out. I did not bling out the headstall that I got with it because I do not care for brow band headstalls and it is so much easier to deal with a nylon headstall, the new set I have order with be the first whole set I have ever used. I was not going to get the headstall at first but it would have only saved me about a hundred bucks so I just said "What da heck, it gone be so PURRRRDY" :) hahaha

also I can get this set in both medium and light oil, this is a picture of it in medium oil.

also mine looks a lot darker then this because it is. I had blinged it out before and rode in it for a good year before stripping it and totally remaking it.
the leather looks kind of cheap in this picture also, but I have owned and rode hard in my set for about 3 or 4 years now and it still looks great.

I lied!

Okay, so I lied!! The lady that made my set posted these pictures up on facebook today so I stole them so that I could share them with all of you!

This is the finished product :)
(like this post if you want to see pictures of it on my horse when I get it)

sorry to the ones that wanted to see the set on my mare....I have been really busy lately and have not had the time to upload the pictures I snapped..plus that temp ban a few weeks ago....these are not the best and they do not come close to showing how beautiful the set is but here are two that will give you and idea

I did have to send the original headstall that came in (one in previous pictures) back due to it being too small but am very happy with the new one :)
