I start youngsters in a level 1 comfort. Have a few others hanging in my tack lockers too. I like the independence they offer, makes it pretty easy to clearly & lightly communicate what you are asking from a youngster.
I spent a fair amount of time talking mechanics with Dale several years ago and it made sense then, still makes sense now.
Yeah I really would like to offer my boy as much comfort as possible, like you said so I can easily and lightly communicate with them without being forceful and taking his focus off of me and onto the bit.
I really don't have alot of money to go buy a bit in each level, I was thinking of just trying the myler combination bit?? They said its the one that they use on colts to start them with the right pressure points.
