Need help finding a saddle!

I've been looking forever with my friend to find a saddle for her Arab/Paint cross. The horse is built like a barrel, with a super sort back. She needs a 16" seat, EXTRA wide bars/gullet, dropped rigging, round or very short skirt, all around saddle for mainly speed and trail riding. No Mexican made or synthetic. Must be well made, an older Billy Cook, Circle Y, Crates, or anything else of USED good quality. She's looking to spend around $500.

We have been looking since December with no luck, so I'm really hoping someone here can help!

Good luck. We had the same situation. 10 or 15 saddles later we have a good dressage and a decent fiber type saddle for trails. I don't know anything about saddles. We downloaded some videos on how to map out your horses back in order to get an idea of what shape of saddle could work for you.

We watched this series of saddle fitting. Even my horsetarded brain was able to understand this!

I'm not familiar with the brand, but it looks like a decent saddle. Just keep at it; craigslist, ebay and tacktrader.com are all good places to look.

We are actually looking into Guffys right now. That one would still be too narrow. She needs something draft wide, like 8" plus gullet.

Oh, and the bar flare needs to be extra wide as well, with a decent curve.
