Need MAJOR Tack Color Help!

Okay, so I bought my saddle a few summeres ago from a used tack shop, and it's been my "old reliable" ever since. It's a super ancient saddle, but a really nice brand (completely blanking on the name for some reason...some french name). Its poorly padded and gives me horrible leg position, but yet I sitll use it for training level jumping AND dressage
ANYWAY. The point is, i'm trying desperately to find out what color it would be. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe
Oakbark is lighter, and Havana is darker of the two? It kind of seesm that my saddle has both on it! I did buy a used bridle over the summer on a whim without even thinking about color, and it seems to match perfectly, but its more of the darker color without REALLY being dark...if that makes any sense

Soooo, I have a show coming up and really need a breastplate. I'm for sure buying one online, specifically, this one:

So I was wondering what color to buy it in? It has both Havana and Oakbark but no pictures...anyway. Heres my saddle:

Thanks in advance!

In general, I would go with the darkest color that will match. Personally, I think the breastplate should be visually unobtrusive.

So, Havana then? Or Oakbark? I'm just worried the Havana will be way TOO dark and awkwardly stand out. I'm not sure, but I think the color on the website is Havana

I would say Havana also, I think the dark brown would look very pretty with your horse. With any brown leather, if you aren't buying everything from the same manufacturer, every company's shades of havana and oakbark will be different, so I think it's best to purposely have them different. Otherwise it can look odd together.

Thanks Sixlets! That helps. I never was considering one of those really light, "chestnutty" colors, but I wasn't sure if that what it meant by Oakbark.

I would go with oak bark

Oak bark looks about the same. The saddle looks about the color of mine and I know that there are a lot of "darkish" brown colors because I have been recently getting a lot of new tack. If you needed to choose between the two colors I say go with oakbark.

Not to sidestep your question, but that saddle appears to be too far forward. The pommel is sitting higher than the cantle.

No worries Puck, I actually really appreciate pointers in that sort of stuff. That was a few years ago, I was using a horribly shaped and fitted wither pad, but my saddle always slips back, so I had it a bit forward while getting ready. But I think most of the problem you're referring to is a lack of stuffing back there, to support it and bring it up. Like I mentioned, it's a very old saddle, but other than stuffing problems, in great condition. Anyone know a price range as how much it would cost to get it restuffed?
