Trying on used saddles shouldn't be a problem as long as you stick to sellers who will let you try the saddle on your horse. Trying/fitting a used saddle should be no different than a new one, you just have to check the tree, billets, panels, etc. Please don't buy a cheap, new saddle. Your horse may not forgive you and there's a good chance you'll both be miserable.
