Need Saddle Fit Advice

My western saddle is a tad to big for my 2 SSH geldings . Is there anything I can use to build up in the shoulder area so it doesn't sit down on their back ? Buying a new saddle is out of question right now

Contoured western saddle pads certainly help.

I use and english wither relief pad for my boy and it helps a ton. Nothing is a substitute for a good fitting saddle but sometimes you have to get close to fit and then pad the rest.

Are you thinking of the roper pad with extra padding just behind the shoulders? Have you tried an Arab tree?

Since a new saddle is out of the question, here is my suggestion. I just bought one of these for my mare that has some diminishing muscle mass to her shoulder/wither area. Works like a dream!

Saddlerymen... you cant fill the gap between the wither and the gullet! All the pressure will end up on the wither.... Saddlehorse, send us some photos so we can give you proper educated responses. I have a SSH too, and just love him!!
