Yeah, I def. hate it when people know nothing about tack, yet they work with it. This is not the same thing, but there was a girl at the barn I ride at (note: WAS) and she said that she trained dressage horses for $100 an hour. She also said that she was training 3 wild arabians, yet she jerked at their mouths. Pfft. Yeah right. You should've seen her seat. Someone put her on one of the most gentle horses at the barn and she could barely handle her. I was on this big warmblood and making him collect perfectly, yet she was riding this paint mare who she couldn't even half-halt. And she trains dressage horses. Train horses, my A$$!

I found out in many cases people working in tack stores do NOT know what they are selling and often give unprofessional advice. :(

I was looking at saddles in our local tack shop and the sales gal just looked at me and said I wouldn't buy one of those, you'll get laughed out of the show ring...... I was looking at a synthetic saddle for my daughters to ride in. I didn't mention showing or 4h or anything of that matter.... I was convinced that she wasn't even listening to me because when I stated that we wouldn't be showing she just kept on telling me how her 8yo daughter refuses to ride in an Abetta because she doesn't want anyone to see her on it???? Ummmm... HELLO....I don't care about your daughter ( who sounds spoiled and ungrateful)...I was wanting to know about the quality of the saddle and so on...
