New lead rope and quick connect question

I just purchased a 14 foot lead rope and a quick release connector. My question is, do I connect it by tying it to the to leather tassels or do I use the looped end. Sorry for such a novice question.

Thanks
Ck

You connect the rope to the clip with the loop.
The tassles are to use as a 'popper' if needed.
No reason to apologize either, everyone starts as a novice.

Agreed, everyone starts as a novice at some point .

Here are some instructions on how to properly put the snap onto the loop end.
