New leather halter: Do I need to clean it?

I just got a new Gatsby leahter adjustible triple stitch halter and I don't know if I should clean it? It said that it was already pre oiled, it feels like its all oiled up, but im not sure like whith my bridle if this halter comes with that waxy stuff on it?

And does anyone have a gatsby leather halter? Do you like it? Good quality?..ect

I would wait and clean until you have used some so that if it is already oiled and stuff I would give that some time to soak in and see what it looks and feels like then. :)
