new rope halter... any ideas?

Got a new rope halter for my birthday and wondered if anyone has a way of softening it up? Its ( of course) really stiff, and tying it etc is not so easy. Would like to get it softer and able to mold better to my boys face! SUggestions?

Use it.

That's the only way I've ever found to effectively loosen up stiff rope...but even that only does a bit of loosening. How much it will soften will greatly depend on the type of rope it is. Some rope is designed to be stiff...and stay stiff.
