    New Saddle

    Hey everyone,
I bought my horse last July and bought a cheap jumping saddle for him just because we were spending so much money. Now I really want to sell the saddle and get him a nicer one, but I'm not sure what exactly I want. We're looking to spend maybe $1,500 tops, and I don't mind whether it's used or new. My horse is a medium tree but hard to fit, as he has a high wither. Any suggestions to point me in the right direction? Thanks!

For $1500 you can get something very nice - either new (medium range like MT, Collegiate, Bates) or gently used of pricey brand (BC, County, Passier). If you have tack stores in area (or may be saddle fitters who often sell saddles) I'd get a bunch and try them all on to find the best fit for both of you.

You will want to look for one with a cut-back pommel. Passier's have this. I had one, felt like it was custom made for me.

Thanks guys! Any other suggestions from anyone, let me know!
