Started by asking for peoples opinions on a saddle just by pics, on this thread http://www.horseforum.com/horse-tack-equipment/guess-quality-138953/ I liked the look of it so I ordered it and it came today, and it is the nicest saddle I have ever ridden in, you can feel the quality of the leather, see the quality of the finish, and it is just so nice to sit on/in, LOVE it.

I had it on Ben today, I hope he is comfortable in it..

Congratulations on the saddle! It looks like a really nice fit. :D

Hey, slightly off topic, but what breed(s) is Ben? I would LOVE to have a big sturdy horse like him some day! Black is my favorite horse color, but more than that, he's BUILT! Love those healthy feet and large bone structure. He's just about my ideal horse. :)

I have a 14.3 Mustang who is BUILT too, but Ben looks taller than that.

Why are sturdy horses so hard to find?

Ben is a touch bigger than that, that is a 19" saddle on there, hang on

Yup, here he is by the barn door

all 17hh of him, the solidness come from the 1/4 helping of perch, toned down by 1/4 serving TB, and 1/2 portion Saddlebred

I think more the angle it was taken at, so glad I took a chance on it, my gut feel was that this was a good buy, and so far, 1 ride, so good:D

Ben has already got a good winter coat happening there! Mine are still on the sleek side, just starting to get fluffy-ish.
We are due some wet snow this week, and night time temps are now below freezing, so it's none to soon:shock:

That looks like a super comfortable saddle with a great seat. I have a Crosby dressage saddle that I feel the same way about. It may be a dressage saddle but I feel like I could jump fences in it, I feel that fitted to it. Congratulations on a great find. :) And ps....I love your Ben's makeup. I bet he's a fun ride. I'm partial to big ones. My shortest one (other than my kids' 15h TW) is 16.1). My very first horse was 17 1/2 h and I was 13 years old then. LOL!

he reminds me of the horses we trail rode up in MT and also up in CANADA. they were big stout horses like him. i asked the guide what they were and he said they all had a lil draft bred into them.

when hunting season started up they were used by the outfitters to pack hunters and their kill in and out the mtns.
