Looks to me like it's right in the front Ricci. But it does look like if the saddle were sitting up towards the front on the pad or if the pad were to slip backwards that the actual zipper would push into that side of the the withers. There's only about an inch of the pad visible in front of the saddle on my guys, and I had to buy Rosie the Tacky Too pad because hers did keep slipping back. I'm sure she'll tell us how it's working out.
The zipper is in front right by the withers in between the top and bottom of the pad. I suppose if the cover slips around on the pad it might go downwards and bother her. I will tack it into place so it wont irritate the withers. I was hoping the zipper would rest more along the top of the pad...there is some room to move it a lil more before I tack it down!
That sounds good Pauly. And I really like the idea! When you make the next cover though, you might want to try the zipper more on the top where you know the saddle isn't going to be sitting on it. That way, you know there won't be any irritation. I do agree with whoever said to use the velcro. They have the heavy duty stuff at Wal-Mart. I haven't had any problems with the velcro on the front of the sheets or blankets for my 2. And I don't even know how old Rook's sheet is. It came with the saddlebred that I had.
