New Wade Saddle

Just wanted to show off my new rig that I built for myself. Its built on a 15.5 inch custom made wade tree that I get from a guy that hand builds all parts of his trees. I used medium weight Herman Oak leather to try and reduce the weight a bit and only did half stirrup leathers as well.

Its just a plain roughout saddle but was pretty happy with the lines of the saddle. Have rode it about 10 times now and really like how it rides. Haven't put any really long mile days in it yet but hopefully soon.

Any comments or critiques are always appreciated!

Thanks and have a good one!

I really like the saddle. The only thing I would like is some darker leather on the horn. But that is just my thoughts.

That looks great! I like the white, quite a different contrast. I have to admit that is one thing I'd love to learn. How to build/craft a saddle, it be be so cool to actually build what I want in a saddle. Congrats!

The horn wrap on the outside is mulehide but under neath that it is the choclate brown like the rest of the saddle. If I had access to some nice dark elkhide I would have liked to try that instead just to see but couldn't find any at the place I buy my leather.

Thanks for the comments

That's what I thought it was; mulehide.

It's a lovely rig. What does it weigh?

I knew it was mule hide. Just my views. Still a very nice saddle. I would ride that all day.
