Noseband Difference?

Just out of curiosity, what are the main differences between a Figure 8 Noseband and a Flash Nozeband? As far as looks, purpose and level go...

They basically do the same thing. A figure 8 noseband prevents a horse from opening his mouth and crossing his jaw, whereas a flash just prevents the horse from opening his mouth.

The figure 8 noseband allows the nostrils to fully expand it doesn't restrict the airflow like a flash would do.
