I have an ogilvy half pad, it's certainly nice & does it's job well. That being said, it does add some bulk even though the memory foam will compress to an extent, extra material is still extra material. So if you don't need it, don't add it. The quality is good though, the cover is washable and the material is nice. I don't use mine often, so I can't comment on how well it holds up with regular use.
