Don't you guys know that some horses just need a harsh bit? That's just how it is!

That bit is a torture device through and through. Sickening.

I actually wonder WHO comes up with the ideas like that?

To eventerdrew, 5 1/4 is really hard to find. My horse is that size and it seems to be very non-standard (all are 5 & 5 1/2). :( I ended up getting really expensive one (Mikmar lorenzo).

Makes me sick! Like, I honestly can't even think of a situation where you would need to use something like that on a horse??? If anyone can, KUDOS!

My husband is a silversmith, and he also makes bits and spurs. You would not believe what people ask him to make!! It's disgusting! He always turns them down though, thank goodness. One guy wanted a tom thumb with the mouthpiece made out of SCREWS! Uck!
He also has people ask him to make "cheater bits" for shows - they look like snaffles but they have a high port like a correction bit. I guess they figure the judge won't ask them to drop their bridles? DUH!

that's gross!! In dressage and I think other horse sports it is awesome when the horse chews the bit it means they are learning! If I horse tryed to chew that bit it would make them bleed!!!

You might try an adjustable bit like these: Adjustable Horse Bits, Eggbutt Bit, Dee Bit, Kimberwick Bit

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.
