Oh my goodness I love eBay!!!!!!

Ok I'm totally beyond excited. Yes I know I'm 29 years old but I get really excited over shopping LOL!

But I got a new close contact saddle for $35, ok really it's $60 including shipping.... but really, it's a $400 saddle I'm not quibbling. I can't wait to try it on Carolina!

And my favourite part - a new pair of Smith & Worthington Field Boots for $20! I about fainted when I won the auction! Yay me!

Ok... back to my coffee and other old people stuff.

Wow, what good deals!

I love ebay too. I'm going to start selling some stuff on there soon.

The bridle I'm currently using on my horse was an e-bay purchase, got it for $20.00.

I'm an ebay addict when it comes to tack/saddlery. You can't beat it. I think I've bought the majority of my saddles from there.
Plus Jodhs!

Sounds like you got some fantastic deals.

Meggymoo - Ohh yes I got a couple new pair of jods on there for $20 but I haven't got them yet.

7Ponies - I bid on a bridle but didn't win it.. finding a plain black snaffle bridle seems to be hard for me on there LOL.

Yay for ebay. Aside fromt he fact that I spend way too much time on there.

Ok I don't know who's more excited - me for getting the good buys - or my sons who are playing in the big box the saddle came in.

That's great Genevieve! What brand saddle is it?

I just snagged a Stubben Scandia that's in great shape, less than 10 years old, for $300 and that included shipping! I'm having it shipped to my PO box so my husband doesn't find out, lol. I have to get another Stubben sold before I spring it on him. As of right now, we have THREE! Lol

I remember when my daughter loved to play with all the boxes I got in. Now it's just the cats, as the princess is 10 now, going on 20, and MUCH to mature for such silliness, lol.

For your bridle, look for a Weymouth bridle that has a separate bridoon hangar. You can sell the bridoon hangag and curb reins later, and the rest of the bridle is a nice snaffle! That's what we did for my husband's bridle. He wanted a plain Dressage bridle, no flash and no padding.

The quality looks dubious on all of the above, but you never know . The one we got was a Crump Chetak bridle, which is Indian made. With a few good coats of oil it turned out to be a decent bridle.

It's a Pinnacle Kirby Close Contact. I've never heard of the brand, but it was brand new. I got it so cheap because it was a display. Like I care!

Thanks for those links! I have a couple of good snaffle bridles but my mare has an awkward head. I've just bit the bullet and ordered from Dover. Hubby said it was ok cause I'd "saved" him a tonne of money on the saddle.

Muwahahahahaa. Little does he know that means I'll probably spend even MORE time on the online tack stores and ebay.

Aww she's ten?? I finally had a little girl and she just turned 11 months. I can't wait til she's as big as the boys and rides too.

My 7 year old was very put out that he didn't get a new saddle.

Pinnacles are decent saddles. Schnieders sells them, Schneider Saddlery

My mare has an awkward head too. I always have to get her horse bridles and then Cob replacement cheek pieces, or hope that the Cob runs big... Ugh, lol. My husband is a horsey guy too, so he watches what comes in like a hawk! I was able to sneak a new Courbette bridle in under his nose last year. We don't use it much, it's our "show bridle", so I keep it hidden in a bridle bag, lol.

Here's my daughter from last June. She did a photo shoot with a friend of mine who's trying to build his photography business. Yes, normally she wears boots and a helmet, but these were her "spring" photos, instead of traditional Easter pictures.

With my mare's new bridle. She's a thick 15.2h mare. Can you believe my baby was only NINE in this photo! She's 5'3" now and wears a womens 8.5-9 shoe... Ugh, they grow to fast...

They grow up way to fast... She's my only one too. I told her when she goes off to college, I'm buying a bunch of puppies, to keep me as busy as she does, lol.
