I actually have a funny story about this,
When I was in high school I was the rodeo queen for a local rodeo, my best friend and I was late arriving to a rodeo where we were to make a queen run in the grand entry. My browband headstall broke and all I had was a split ear to replace it in the trailer. I switched, headstalls, mounted and went to warm up my horse. The horse I had was very cold backed and was notorious for bucking. We seen flags in the arena and thought we were late for the grand entry and went to lope over to the gate. The arena was set up in the infield of the dirt track for stock cars. We came up over the burm and he buried his head to buck and pawed that split ear headstall off of his head and left me sitting in the middle of the racetrack holding my snaffle bit reins while my horse bucked down the track...LOL
Later the stock contractor came up and offered me $500 for him.
So that just confirmed for me not to put a split ear headstall on a snaffle..tee he.
I DON'T LEAD 'EM AND FEED 'EM, I RIDE 'EM AND SLIDE 'EM.
