Open Front Boots

ok, well Dover is having a sale, and I saw a Endorsken(i think that is how you spell it!) boot value set, and I was wondering if anyone on here likes those boots. Or if there are any other open fronts you really like. Thanks in advanced!

Did you mean "Eskadron"?

If so, they're great quality boots that offer a lot of protection and last a while. However, DO NOT get the kind that doesn't have the "flexisoft" area. (a soft spot on the back) Those have been known to cause tendon damage. If you'll notice, all the newer models (even of other brands) have a that cutback or soft area.

I've had several pairs and I love them! They are the 'cheaper' of the expensive but quality boot brands (Veredus, Grand Prix, etc are also worth checking out). They offer protection but still allows your horse to feel it if they hit a pole and like I said earlier, are great quality. You can't show in the hunters with them on but they're great for everything else. I've actually been looking for another pair and found them pretty cheap at Tack Supply & Horse Supplies from Equus Now! - Discount Tack Supplies. Fronts are only $105.95 + free shipping! They're the cheapest I've found so far but if you see them somewhere else please let me know! :)

The value set eskadrons do not have flexisoft on the front boots... I agree with upnover - get the flexisoft. I have them and I love them.

You can get them in all kinds of colors for eventing (stadium only, no open fronts on XC!!!), but if you're planning on doing hunters too then you probably want black even though you will only be able to use them in the schooling ring, no boots unless you're in eq. Classes and eskadrons are going out of style in there (at least around here)

Ok well the value set is out. What other brands do you recomend, that don't have any problems? Also I can't use boots in Hunter jumper? I need to use bell boots or I will lose a shoe jumping.

I do have a set of eskadrons with flexisoft which are great - I have dark green for stadium at horse trials. I also have a set of Veredus, they can be expensive - I snagged mine off of ebay for like $65, but they are very nice boots. They have lycra inside instead of neoprene which is good for horses with sensitive skin. I have these in black for jumpers.

You can't use boots in hunters, the only thing you can have besides saddle/fittings/bridle is a standing martingale - and only for the over fences classes, not on the flat.
If you ride in an equitation class then you can use open front boots or black polos, the boots seen are mostly leather (same color as tack). In hunters everything should be pretty discrete and conservative. If you are going to ride in the jumper divisions then you can use whatever kind of tack and boots you want (unless it's illegal... you'll have to read the rule book for the association).

So you think my royal blue splint boots wont do good? LOL! Haha ok, well thanks for the tip! Didn't know that! I might try to get some leather ones from Bit of Britian or whereever my friend got her stadium boots.
