Opinions on This Bit

I just bought this bit to transition my 12-y/o gelding from a snaffle to a curb. (I know, a little late, but it's our favorite bit and we've no need to switch other than that we can't use a snaffle in a show since he's over 5yo). What's your opinion on it? Have any of you used it? Do you think it'd be a good transition?

Looks like it moves independently on each side, moves in the middle, nice short curved shanks. Looks fine to me.
