Parelli Western Theraflex Pad Rubbing My Horse's Back

Has anyone used the Parelli Western Theraflex (TM) Self-Inflating Western pad? I'm using it with my mutton-withered Canadian Cheval to provide a better saddle fit, but it's rubbing her back and leaving a raw spot. Am I inflating it incorrectly? Or should I be using a thin (under)pad liner with it? And if so, which one?

Email the makers of the pad and see if you can get the answer you need. Where is the raw spot?
