Perfect Browbands- Browband price ?

Ive had a couple of ribboned browbands on here for sale. Now I just want to ask a question, in Australia when I deal face to face with my customers I sell my browbands for $80 and they go like hotcakes.

Im trying to branch out and start selling them on the internet and so I've just priced them for the same price plus postage which makes them about $90. Can you please tell me if you think this is reasonable, and be truthful I can take it lol

Hmm... maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't pay $90 for that, but then again, US dollars aren't the same as AUS dollars, I don't think.

$80 AUS is about $64 US. That seems high to me.

Okay I thought about it, and decided I'd pay $50 US which is like $62 AUS.

If you go on ebay, there are others who make and sell ribbon browbands - go and have a look see at what they offer there.

It is difficult for people across the ocean to pay that price, plus the high cost of shipping oversea's - that would be one very expensive browband.

Ribbon are lovely, but they get dirty easily as well - which destroys the product when you want to wash it.

I understand you put allot of time and effort into making them, and you do a wonderful job at it - and I understand that you put cost into the ribbon and materials - but consider a price where they will sell.

Thanks everyone. I was curious what they would be worth in other countries. I've seen some other browbands on websites and they price for over a $100 not including shipping which to me seems a bit to much. Do you think $70 would be reasonable ? To me $50 isnt enough once you count in materials, and time. To create one of my browbands takes me about 3 hours after I sew the browband make the rossettes (which take along time) and braid the ribbon.

Aargh! I posted and it dissapeared!

Well, I mentioned that it seems very reasonable to me. The 'bling' browbands with diamantes go for $120 where I am.

However, your main market will be hackies, and I don't think there are many on here, so your market may be limited. Have you sold any of your browbands at royals shows/ag shows? I bet they sell at the drop of a hat there :]
