Perri's Stirrup Leathers?

I ordered a pair of Beval Princeton stirrup leathers from in newmarket. Unfortunately they were out of stock. They asked if I was interested in a pair or Perri's in a chestnut color.

My other option was to get the Beval leathers on back order. I decided to try the Perri's. Couldn't hurt right? I can always send them back if they don't match. My saddle is a toulouse in newmarket. I figured chestnut leathers would at least be somewhat close to matching.

I'm not in a big hurry to get them so I could've just back ordered the Bevals. But I decided against that because newmarket isn't a very common color and I thought the company might not have them anymore. I also thought about the fact that my saddle darkened quite a bit after I oiled it. So newmarket leathers wouldn't even match unless I oiled them as well. And last I heard that was taboo because they would stretch more easily. So we'll see.

So what are your opinions?

I think you made a good choice to try the Perri's leathers.

1-Beval's Princeton line is not very high quality.
2-You probably won't be oiling your leathers much (if at all--prevent stretching), so I think the slightly darker color will match your oiled newmarket saddle better.
3-I've heard good things about Perri's quality in general. I believe they use domestic leathers and stainless hardware.
4-Like you said, if they don't work out, send 'em back!

Oh good. I'd never heard of that bran before. I was worried they might be one of those cheap brands that fall apart.
