Prestige saddle with blemishes : what would you pay?

CWD Sellier Used Saddles - 18 " PRESTIGE JUMPING SADDLE (SO9078) Cosmetic Damages

I have always been a big fan of the prestige jumping saddles but they are normally a bit out of my price range.

I'm in the market for a new, reasonably priced saddle and found this one. It's my size and the right size tree but I don't know if I should be worried about the cracking on the saddle panels? The other small blemishes don't bother me as much.

These saddle are normally at least double that price. Awesome deal or should I keep looking? It's otherwise a beautiful saddle!

Given the kneepad repairs and cracked panel leather that doesn't seem cheap to me. And it looks more than 20 years old.
Just MHO.

I agree. Also looking at those cracks I wonder how well it was maintained (how often cleaned/conditioned). I found it to be a big pain with older saddles: too many people don't take a proper care of them.

That damage is much more than cosmetic. I can't believe the whole underside panels are cracked. That saddle was not well maintained over the years. A shame, since Prestige's are very nice saddle.

I don't think those cracks should be a big worry. Give it a good cleaning with glycerin soap like Propert's. No oiling. It likely wasn't cleaned as often as it should to remove sweat. JMO I think you'll enjoy many years with this saddle. Be sure to get a guarantee that the tree is good.
