Project Saddle!

I'm sooo excited! I'm going to pick up another project saddle sunday night for $75!

Seller says the tree is sound (from what I described for how to check it lol) and he thinks the only thing that looks like it needs replaced is the cinch..which I could care less about because I wouldn't buy it with any other saddle. The fleece looks like it's in great condition as well..The saddle is just filthy with dust, dirt, and probably spider webs, haha.

He said it was his dad's old saddle from when he was a kid and it's just been sitting in the garage for 17yrs. They don't have a use for it and they're selling it because they're trying to clean out the garage.

Soo..I'm super elated to have another saddle project! Weather is getting nicer so I can take the relaxing 3 days I'll probably need to get it cleaned up and the latigos replaced (I don't like leather).

Here's a picture of it that was on the sale ad:

I'll add another post with the last saddle I re-did. (:

I didn't know it was black either, hemms xD

I'm so excited to get this one and get started on it.(:

I absolutely LOVED cleaning up that last black one, so I'll definitely be finding cheap old things and bringing them back to life.(:

Wow! If you don't mind me asking, how on earth do you do it? I've been thinking about trying to fix up my mothers' old saddle from when she was a kid (been sitting unused for 30+ years), just for the sake of doing it. And, if the tree was still good, I think it'd be awesome to keep it for future use.
