QH with Wide Shoulders

The lady I am getting Dee Dee from said that her girth is a 36 and she has wide shoulders. The saddle I am looking at says this in the description:

  • Color: Black
  • Tree: Fiberglass
  • Paneling: Wool Surge Paneling (Will mold over time to fit your horse.)
  • Leather: 100% Pure Drum Dried Leather
  • Fully Rigged
Sizes:
  • Medium-Wide Tree 6.5" Gullet. Will fit most Quarter horses.
  • Horn: 3"
  • Seat: 18" Australian=16" Western
  • 20" Australian=18" Western
  • Weight: 28 Pounds
Do you think this would work?

The 6.5 inch gullet will possibly be too small and pinch your horse's withers. A 7" gullet size is more appropiate for a wide QH.

Good luck!

Sorry, didn't realize it was an aussie saddle. 6.5 on a western might be too tight but the australian saddle might fit.

I'm thinking a medium isn't going to work. I have a QH with very wide shoulders and I've really had a time fitting him with a saddle. He's currently on his third english saddle, a Bates with the extra-wide gullet in it. The fit still isn't perfect..

As for western, with mine it has to be a FULL QH BARS....

Well dang...I really loved that saddle too! I do not like the looks of a western saddle and I am only going to trail ride, so I guess I will be looking for a nice comfy english. LOL
