Quarter Sheet for driving ponies?

I'm looking for a fairly-inexpensive quarter sheet to use on my ponies, Bandit and Dante, while I'm driving them this winter. However... I've never even seen a quarter sheet other than running a Google search, much less know anyone who owns one.
How do they attach? Is there a particular type of quarter sheet to be used with a driving harness versus a saddle or would they be interchangeable? Are they measured the same as a regular blanket?
Oh, and does anyone have any suggestions on brands?

Well, I don't know much about driving... but it would probably be best to get this kind:

I'm guessing there is a piece of a driving harness that acts like a lunging surcingle - you can just run that through the girth straps on the sheet.

As opposed to this kind, with a hole for the saddle/rider, for obvious reasons:

Other than that, for brand - it's up to you. I have a couple Rider's International that are very nice. A Weatherbeeta and other types from eBay that are also nice. It depends whether you want just fleece, wool or something waterproof. I would look for one with weighted corners so the wind doesn't get ahold of it.

You would have to check the website/call the manufacturer for measurements to make sure they'll fit your ponies. The sizes can vary pretty drastically sometimes...

Quarter sheets generally come in three types, those that velcro around the rider, those that velcro to the billets of a saddle and those that are put on under the saddle, like a saddle pad.
I have never seen any specifically for driving, but I would check out Greenhawk to see if anything like that was made...
The first type:
The second type:
The third type:

I would try on the latter two types with the harness and see what works best.
As far as sizing I think it's a standard size for horses and one for ponies. Some companies might also size like bridles: pony, cob, horse and oversize.

You can find quarter sheets in a whole range of materials and fabrics from cotton, to wool, fleece, quilted and waterproof. As far as brands, it depends on your preference. I have a Pegasus that I like for cold weather when I'm warming up and cooling down.

Good luck!
