Quick please! What do you think this saddle is worth???

A girl in town is selling this saddle - I have not been to look at it/try it on my horse yet or anything.

She doesn't know who it's made by and is (in my mind) asking wayyyyy too much at $1400. But she is in a hurry to sell as she is moving and "everything MUST go"

Assuming it fits my horse... what do you think it's worth? I'm in dire need of a new saddle (I have an old Association which actually rocks to be honest, but it's a teeny bit embarrassing sometimes lollllll) but am just having a hard time seeing $1400 for a no-name saddle. Mind you, I've never BOUGHT a saddle before so who knows

With no name then she is a little out, I would be closer to $200 rather than $1200

Can't tell from that one pic, but there maybe a makers name somewhere. If you don't know enough to tell f this is a good saddle when you see it, then either pass, or take someone along. $1200 will buy you a good used saddle from a quality maker.

(I am located very far up north so all tack/anything horse related/horses themselves are more expensive than down south... but if there really is no maker symbol anywhere I still think she's asking too much)

It's got silver on it and looks to be in good shape, maybe that is why it is so much, but if you are not going to show you wouldn't need that. Actually it does look like a very nice comfy saddle but you can buy a nice new one for that much more or less. Just my opinion..

Do you/person selling the saddle know the brand?

Thank you for feeding us years of lies. Thank you for the wars you left us to fight. Thank you for the world you ruined overnight. But we'll be fine, yeah we'll be fine.

.

Someone added the Corner Plates on the back, if it was factory done then the tooling would have been done around the Plates not under them.

Someone added cheap back cinches also

Other than that the Saddle looks pretty decent.

While Saddles are higher in Canada, I still do not see it being worth more than 600.00 maybe 700.00 Tops

No, she does not know the brand.

GA, I thought something looked off on the plates... If they added the back ones, it's fairly likely that most of them were added afterwards, right? Do these generally have a tendancy to come off easily?

I'm actually specifically looking for something with a *bit* of silver as I do show locally... but this is a bit blingy for sure as most of my time is spent on the trails or in the mountains. I'd probably still hold onto the old association for packtrips and stuff.

There's no way in heck I'd pay $1400 for it, but as she is in a rush to sell I was considering offering $600 and seeing what she says. But I also don't want to waste my money... I'm moving south in a couple months and could look for a decent secondhand saddle down there.

Just wanted to see if I could maybe get a good deal on it. It does look comfy.

The plate attach no different, they do not sit quite a flush the way the did it, so they could snag on something, but only a possibility.

It kinda looks like a Rocking R Saddle.

I think 600.00 would be a fair price in your area, that Saddle was not worth $1,400 when it was new, imo
