Quick Question about Wintecs.

Would a Wintec be accepted in the hunter/jumper or equitation show arena? I'm not doing any big shows, just a few casual things, but I need a new saddle and I'm thinking I might get a Wintec CC. It's the caramel color.

Piccy of the one I'm looking at:

It has CAIR panels. Only 400. 16.5 seat, my current saddle is a 16 and I BARELY fit, so I'm going up half a size. Any input is appreciated!

Heck, if I can do Hunter/Jumper schooling shows in my black wintec and black tack and do well in placings - then you can use a brown wintec cc for sure.

That's a synthetic saddle in that pic? It looks like leather.

I can't see why not? They aren't going to be checking brands.

Green Broke
Might be worth going a full size - apparently where Wintec's measure makes their sizes smaller than other brands. So even though I have a 17 inch apparently its approximately a 16.5inch in the grand scheme of things.

I don't see why it would matter (the saddle) as long as its clean and your tack matches each other and sits right. I had a saddle just like that but I sold it. It wasn't bad. I think my next jump saddle will be a Bates CC. I quite like them.

I do not know much about English Rules for Shows, but I know 400.00 for a used Wintec 500 CC is way too high, you can get a new one for 499.00.

I know, I love how leather-like it looks!
I'll look for a 17 so I'll have plenty of room. I fit my 16, but it'd be nice to have a little more room over fences.
I would get a bates, but they're WAY out of my price range. The Wintecs and Bates are made from the same company though, so I think I'll go with the Wintec.

Thanks for the heads up SouthernTrailsGA! I'll try to find a cheaper one somewhere :)

You can get it even cheaper, brand new for $449.00 - including a free gift, being leathers or gullet change kit or a girth.

Adams Horse Supply.

I am saving to get the Wintec CC in black in the 17.5"

Wintec's are good saddles, but I'd be very carefull with the 'cair' ones. I know a lot of people who have brought them, paid the extra money for them, only to pay even more to get them reverted to flocking because the cair was putting too much pressure on the horses back.
