    Thanks iridehorses. I bought the saddle on ebay so going to the place I got it from won't help but I could go to the maker. I know that Pessoa is a reputable saddle brand and they would probably like to keep their good name.

    Also, I either use Leather CPR, Horseman's One Step, or the Passier Lederbalsam for leather conditioner if that has anything to do with it. Wouldn't the alcohol ruin the leather.

    Mudypony, Those are good brands of conditoner so I don't think that it's that. Although you don't know what was used before.

    The alcohol should be fine. You are using it only to strip away the old oils and waxes and then starting from scratch with new conditioner. As long as you are going to contact the maker I would wait until they tell you what to do. If they can't help you then just ask them about the alcohol first.

    I would try to contact the manufacture for ideas. They may also want to know that their saddles do that.
