Recommend a western show saddle

I plan on showing western this year and I'm looking for a used western show saddle. Unfortunately I know a lot more about english saddles than western. The only decent brands of western saddle I know are Tex Tan and Billy Cook. Someone I know has a King Series, but I think the seat is way to hard. I had to rig my gel pad to it to ride in it, lol. I'm looking at buying from Ebay or ideally the local 4h tack sale this spring. I don't want to spend more than $800.

Also, I don't know what size to get. I ride in a 17.5 inch english saddle if that helps.

I love my Dale Chavez saddle. Go to a tack store and start sitting in all the western pleasure show saddles and see what's comfortable. I'm going to guess you'll like somthing around at 15.5" or 16". Western saddles aren't measured the same as English, so you'll take a little bit smaller seat.

Billy Royals are really nice. A friend has one, and the leather and silver are gorgeous. Schneiders sells the full line. I hear they're very comparable to Billy Cooks, leather quality wise, and they have a wider range of options. I'm not sure what luck you'll find on eBay though...No one seems to want to sell theirs.

My Circle Y is super comfortable and balanced. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my horse anymore, so I'm having to sell it. I'm pretty sure I'm buying a Billy Royal once this one sells.

EBay will probably be your best choice for something of good quality.
Billy Cook (the real one made in Sulphur, OK, not the one made in Texas. It's a fake.), Billy Royal, and Circle Y are what I suggest.
