Reflocking Stubben saddle

Just received a used Stubben Edelweiss saddle for my daughter which I bought on ebay. It is well broken in with normal signs of wear but in otherwise good shape. The padding seems very soft which makes it extremely comfortable but I am wondering if it should be reflocked to increase its lifespan and make sure everything is OK.

Also, is there a way to apply new leather dye/stain? This would be for cosmetic purposes only but would be nice as the area where the stirrups hang is quite discolored.

Thanks for the endorsement. I am thrilled with the deal we got. My daughter had ridden a Steubben Edelweiss on her first leased horse It was a bit too big for her but she LOVED it so I felt safe getting her a used one on Ebay half a size smaller. I'm still a bit paranoid that something will be found seriously wrong with the tree but from what we can tell its good--just some lumpy soft spots in the padding which is why I may want to reflock it.

I would personally suggest arranging a saddle fitting. That way the saddle can be re-flocked, and fitted to the horse that will be using it. Also, a saddle fitter may have some advice on that coloring question you brought up. =) hope that helped
